Bondi Beach Radio DJ Dave Spicer from The Spectacular Disco Group, Sundays monthly 2pm-4pm, has been involved with Windgap Foundation leading the ‘Making Airwaves’ project, an opportunity for people with an intellectual disability to learn radio presentation and production skills.

Workshops have been held at community radio stations, including Bondi Beach Radio, learning how to use a microphone, structure a radio show, prepare for interviews, announce the weather, the news, and have fun in the studio putting it all together.

Windgap Foundation was recognised as a finalist in the NSW Disability Industry Innovation Awards 2013 for this program.

Big ups Dave and the Windgap foundation.
