Audiophiles in Sydney’s eastside are celebrating as the world’s most popular record club Classic Album Sundays brings its renowned audio experience to The World Bar on Sunday 27th November, featuring Princes ninth studio album Sign o’ the Times, rated by a number of industry sources as one of the greatest albums ever.

CAS brings out the musical context and the stories behind extraordinary albums and provides uninterrupted in-depth vinyl listening sessions of entire albums on a high end audiophile sound system.

CAS currently holds regular classic album listening sessions in cities including London, New York City, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Tokyo, Oslo, Manchester, Boston, and Austin, with more cities to follow. CAS also holds listening sessions at festivals, art galleries, and hosts one-off tailored events alongside record companies and venues.

CAS was founded by Colleen “Cosmo” Murphy, a protégé of David Mancuso and Francoise Kevorkian, also a radio host, music journalist, music producer/remixer, and owner of independent label Bitches Brew.

The new Sydney edition will be hosted by well respected BBR stalwarts Jim Poe (Deep House Australia) and JP Ducharne (Mancusian Circus), vinyl connoisseurs and music purists, and will initially be held in the infamous Bordello Room at the top of World Bar in Kings Cross with high end audio provided by Audio Connection Australia. Audio will feature the Linn Akudorik Exakt System and either Linn LP12 or Clearaudio Performance DC turntable

The first album to be featured is Princes ninth studio album Sign o’ the Times, released in March 1987. The double album, rated by a number of industry sources as one of the greatest albums ever, encompasses a varied range of styles, including funk, soul, psychedelic pop, electro, and rock.
